Obtaining a visa to attend WCSJ 2025

South Africa requires a short-stay visitor’s visa for attending conferences, seminars, or sports events, even if the purpose is a short-term stay. The visa application should be submitted with the appropriate documentation and fees, including proof of financial means to cover expenses and a letter of invitation from the conference organisers (once registered for the conference please request a letter of invitation from info@wcsj2025.org).

For attending conferences, a visitor’s visa is required, which is usually valid for up to 90 days.

Requirements

Applicants need:

  • a valid passport,

  • passport photos,
  • proof of financial means to cover expenses, and
  • a letter of invitation from the conference organisers (once registered for the conference please request a letter of invitation from info@wcsj2025.org)
  • a return ticket, if traveling by air, and
  • a statement confirming the purpose and duration of the visit are also required.

Processing
Visa applications should be submitted to the relevant South African diplomatic or consular representative in your area.

Considerations
If you plan to visit neighbouring Southern African countries, consider requesting a multiple-entry visa.
