WORKSHOP

How to pitch video stories: mastering environmental journalism by playing the editor

Environmental journalism goes beyond wildlife and climate disasters—it’s about people, solutions, and untold stories.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how to craft compelling, well-researched pitches that stand out to editors. You’ll learn how to generate original story ideas, define strong angles, and ensure accuracy while debunking misinformation. We’ll discuss the importance of solutions journalism, how to navigate rejections, and how to build lasting relationships with editors. The session will conclude a hands-on exercise, where participants analyse and improve flawed pitches, gaining practical skills to refine their own proposals.
