No need to miss out! WCSJ 2025 remote access opens today

26 November 2025

Good news. Owing to high demand, virtual attendance for WCSJ 2025 is now available through an online-only access option. This supports the organisers’ aim to assist science journalists and communicators who cannot attend in person and to increase affordability and reach.

Your online attendance provides:

  • Remote access to all scheduled sessions on the main programme on 2, 3 and 4 December 2025.
  • One year of access, allowing you to explore the content at your own pace after the conference concludes.
  • The option to view sessions live, with recordings available to watch at a time that suits you.

Payment
The online only rate is 550ZAR (around 30 USD) per day, or 1400ZAR (around 80 USD) for all three days. Register and pay through the online access page.

We recognise that online access cannot replicate the full in-person experience, including networking, field trips and social events. We hope, however, that the remote option offers valuable learning for science journalists and other media professionals who are unable to travel to South Africa.

If you require further information or support, please email info@wcsj2025.org.

The World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) will take place at the CSIR International Convention Centre, Pretoria, South Africa from 1 – 5 December 2025, with the theme “Science journalism and social justice: journalism that builds understanding and resilience”.
