We are pleased to invite expressions of interest from universities, scientific and related institutions, organisations and companies, to host a scientific field trip as part of the programme for WCSJ 2025, taking place from 1–5 December 2025 in Pretoria, South Africa.

These field trips offer an exceptional opportunity to showcase your infrastructure, research, technology and innovation to a global audience of leading science journalists – allowing for direct engagement, storytelling and on-site exposure.

Key details

• Unlimited opportunities are available, but applications will be adjudicated by the WCSJ 2025 Programme Committee.
• Field trips can take place before or after the conference (on or before 1 December or on or after 5 December 2025).
• Trips can be single or multi-day, and must be free of charge to participating delegates.

Hosts/sponsors are responsible for covering all costs, including:

• Transport to and from Pretoria (road and/or air)
• Catering and accommodation, where applicable
• All on-site logistics and activities
• Attendees will register to attend based on your selection criteria and approval.

• Promotion via the official WCSJ 2025 website and delegate mailers (sponsor to supply material)
• Logo placement on the conference website and programme (with hyperlink)
• Media exposure opportunities including press interviews during or after the trip
• Inclusion of 1 advert or feature article with images in the post-conference thank you email to all delegates
