Cosmic Frontiers at MeerKAT and SKA-Mid Losberg

Please advise regarding any mobility challenges or special needs.

SHEQ: Safety boots or closed, comfortable shoes are required. Indemnity forms must be signed before travelling to the site.

No Radio Frequency Interference: Mobile phones should preferably be left behind. If brought on site, Bluetooth and “Find My Phone” must be switched off, and the device powered down. Phones will be stored in lockers during the visit.

Equipment Testing: Specifications for any cameras or electronic equipment must be submitted in advance for approval. Equipment should be tested by the SARAO Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) team, or at minimum, specifications must be approved to ensure no interference with site operations.

4. Quiver tree conservation tour with SANParks
5. Q&A session

Itinerary

Pick up
Arrive at Cape Town Charter Airport
Refreshments and briefing by Milisa Kentane
Transfer to Carnarvon, Northern Cape:
– Lunch at Losberg site 13:00
– Transfer to Lanseria airport
– Introduction
Drop off
