WORKSHOP

How to be excellent: free and easy tools to upgrade your science journalism

In this interactive workshop, participants will discuss several instruments designed to help science journalists improve the quality of their work. These tools can help us better serve audiences with high-quality work. Tools include an AI-powered analytical tool, excellence checklists, story annotations, courses and toolkits to aid in learning from and producing outstanding work, and a yearly global online event. The event will help sharpen journalists’ skills while enabling discussions of what counts for excellence in science journalism, ways to contribute to existing tools, and ideas for designing new ones for the science journalism community.
