Support Global Science Journalism at WCSJ2025 – Sponsor a Travel Grant

11 July 2025

The WCSJ2025, taking place from 1–5 December in Tshwane, South Africa, will bring together a truly global community of science journalists and communicators. To ensure inclusive participation, especially from low- and middle-income countries, we are inviting organisations and individuals to partner with us by sponsoring travel grants for eligible delegates and speakers.

Two impactful sponsorship opportunities are available:

Journalist Travel Grants Partner – USD 3,000 each

Help ensure that active science journalists from underrepresented regions can attend.

  • Sponsors may set criteria (e.g. country, region, career stage)
  • Grant covers flights, airport transfers, and up to 7 nights’ accommodation
  • Sponsors will receive logo placement with acknowledgement on the WCSJ2025 website, programme, and during opening and closing sessions
  • Recognition in conference materials as a Journalist Travel Grant Sponsor

Speaker Travel Grants Partner – USD 4,000 each

Support the travel of invited speakers who bring essential perspectives to the global conversation.

  • Includes flights, airport transfers, and up to 7 nights’ accommodation
  • Acknowledgement across all WCSJ2025 channels, including website, programme, and event branding

➜ If you would like to sponsor a travel grant, please complete the Sponsorship Booking Form.

If you would like to tailor a sponsorship opportunity, please let us know — we’d be happy to discuss your proposal. To tailor a package, please email your ideas to partners@wcsj2025.org.

Your support will help ensure a more diverse, inclusive and globally representative event. We look forward to welcoming you as a valued travel grant sponsor.

The World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) will take place at the CSIR International Convention Centre, Pretoria, South Africa from 1 – 5 December 2025, with the theme “Science journalism and social justice: journalism that builds understanding and resilience”.
